THE MAD GARDENER'S SONG: LEWIS CARROLL

·         Amount of stanzas: 9 ·         Amount of lines: 54 ·         Average number of words per line: 6 ·         Mood of the speaker: o    There are many exclamation marks in the poem. The speaker is excited. He or she has strong feelings on the subject that is described in the poem. o    
 The author has used lexical (word) repetitions to emphasize a significant image: "he" is repeated. 
 The author also has used the same word 'he' at the beginning of some stanzas. The poem The Mad Gardener's Song by Lewis Carroll contains the several disjointed stanzas which have a stupid mad logic as a common factor. The first line of each stanza begins with “He thought he saw...” And the third line of each stanza with “He looked again, and found it was…” This revised vision leads the persona to a conclusion in the last two lines of each stanza.
